My India Trip 2016

It takes more than a day to go to India on airplane. We flew on Singapore Airlines, which I did not like very much! I did not like the food served on the plane or the entertainment. But, I liked the gardens in Singapore Changi airport. The garden had beautiful orchids and trees, butterflies, fish and pathway to the center of the lake. Next time I want to fly by Emirates because they have good food, good entertainment and a big flight.

In Kerala, we spent 2 days on a boat house to experience life on backwaters. When traveling through backwaters, we saw paddy fields, palm trees, flowers, birds, fishermen, fishing boats and small villages that were all beautiful. The chef cooked for us rice, idli, rasam, sambar, roti, curries, and puttu and I liked everything but puttu. We had no cellular connection or television. We played card games, board games, word games, and paper boats. It was fun being on the boathouse because we did not have any electronics and we got to play new games while watching beautiful scenery and eating boat food.

I went to lots of temples that were grand. My favorite temples are, Sri Padmanabhaswamy temple in Trivandrum, Sivalayam in Kakinada, Gollalamamida temple near Rajahmundry and the Iskcon temple in Rajahmundry. The Sri Padmanabhaswamy temple is nearly 5,000 years old and is very grand. I liked the Vishnu’s idol lying down and touching sivalingam. In Kakinada, my dad made us do a pooja. It was very long but worth it because we got to hear the priests chant slokas. The Iskon temple is blue and beautiful. I liked the unique, 3-d museum that is in the temple. I also stayed in the temple rooms when family members came over.

During my stay I saw many family members like great grand mothers, grand mothers, grandpas, cousins, aunts and uncles. They gave me lots of gifts and toys. I had lots of fun talking with them. I played with my cousins, which were Samitha and (baby) Kaushal. We played with toys, we watched TV and had lots of fun. Sometimes we had small fights.

I also went to several restaurants. I liked Avakai and Minerva. In Avakai my favorite food was Rava dosa and butter scotch icecream. In Minerva I liked poori. I also liked fingerbowl that they gave after food was eaten.

In conclusion, I had a great time in India doing fun things, meeting family members, sitting in a car’s front seat and without seat belt.
